Best of Riverside Records

Founded by producer Orrin Keepnews and entrepreneur Bill Grauer in 1953, jazz label Riverside Records initially focused on repackaging vintage recordings from the ‘30s and ‘40s. Eventually, the label began assembling a roster of its own talent. It came into its own when it signed Thelonious Monk in 1955. Soon more jazz greats followed, including Bill Evans, Chet Baker, and many others.
