In '75, sonic radicals like Richard Hell and The Ramones birthed punk rock in New York City, thereby kicking off a cultural revolution. The sound mutated in the '80s and boot-stompers like Agnostic Front were key in the development of hardcore, while bands like Bold furthered the straight-edge scene. Later, the fiery Biohazard and others channeled a gnarly sound that morphed into metalcore.
