Best of Greenwich Village Folk
Apple Music
Beginning in the late '40s, folk musicians started to take over the coffeehouses and clubs of New York's bohemian Greenwich Village. With groups like The Weavers leading the way, a purist, roots-driven scene gained strength throughout the '50s. By the early '60s, Peter, Paul & Mary, Joan Baez, and a young singer/songwriter named Bob Dylan made folk music the latest pop craze.
