BBC Music Magazine Awards 2016: Nominees

Out of 1,200 classical recordings reviewed in 2015, BBC Music Magazine whittled its year-end finalists down to 21 releases in seven categories. Star soloists and ensembles tackle a wide range of repertoire, including ecstatically ornamented Italian Baroque opera excerpts, compositions from the First Viennese School, and explosive 20th-century and contemporary works.
