Analog Synth-Pop Originals

In the late ‘70s, the advent of affordable synthesizers changed the face of pop music forever. Many of their new adopters brought post-punk attitudes to their tools, resulting in the one-fingered melodies and gloomy atmospheres of artists like John Foxx, The Human League, and Gary Numan. Others took the opposite route: New Order's “Your Silent Face” revels in its synths' warm, sensuous glow.
