Accusefive: Singular New Year

When it comes to celebrating the Lunar New Year, Taiwanese trio Accusefive have some pretty simple goals. “It’s mandatory to sleep until you wake up naturally—and then gradually get up to enjoy the new year and spend time with family,” the band tells Apple Music. “That’s what happiness is.” Consisting of drummer Richard Lin, singer Chuan Ching, and singer/guitarist Pan Yun-an, the indie folk-rock trio kicked off 2023 with their third album, We Will Be Fine, and this playlist sees them select songs to inspire new heights for 2024. “In addition to wishing for good health, we hope that everyone will find wings to soar up to their heart’s desire,” they say. “These are songs for listening to when you stay up all night—and also when you’re eating with your family.” You’ll find inspirational anthems Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “知⾜” (“Contentment”) by fellow Taiwan rockers Mayday, alongside party-starters like Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams’ “Lose Yourself to Dance” and the band’s own “帶我去找夜⽣活” (“Night Life, Take Us to the Light”), plus high-energy songs from acts including Coldplay, A-Yue Chang, Madonna, Jay Chou, and PSY.
