Back in 2004, this former Montreal Canadiens draft pick became a phenom on the Quebec reality show Star Académie, and he's since amassed a rich repertoire of folky orchestral serenades and rootsy rockers that draw out the natural grit in his voice. The title track from his 2006 debut, Je l'ai jamais dit à personne, is a lovely acoustic lullaby swathed in subtle strings; “Femme libérée” is a rousing stomper loaded with “whoa oh” hooks. But with windswept piano ballad “T'es ma femme, t'es la plus belle,” he delivers an instant wedding standard with spotlight-seizing gusto.
