About YOON MIRAE
Yoonmirae is a pioneer in South Korean hip-hop who has also become one of the country's most reliable ballad singers. • She was born in Fort Hood, Texas, to a Korean mother and Black father who once worked as a radio DJ in the US military. Early on, she was inspired by her father's record collection. • After stints with different hip-hop and R&B acts in the ’90s—when both genres were still nascent in South Korea—Yoonmirae launched her solo career in 2001. • In 2006, she joined Jungle Entertainment, the label founded by her future husband Tiger JK, another pioneer in the Korean hip-hop world. • By the 2010s, Yoonmirae had delivered multiple chart-topping Korean hits with ballads recorded for popular Korean dramas. These include "Touch Love," from 2013's Master's Sun, and “Always,” from 2016’s Descendants of the Sun.
