About Working Men's Club

Britain's Working Men's Club make angular, '80s-style post-punk influenced by bands like Gang of Four, Devo, and Monochrome Set. They grabbed buzz in 2019 with their debut single, "Bad Blood."

Hailing from Todmorden in West Yorkshire, Working Men's Club came together while the bandmembers, including lead singer/guitarist Sydney Minsky-Sargeant, guitarist Jake Bogacki, guitarist/keyboardist Giulia Bonometti, and bassist Liam Ogburn, were still teenagers. Combining a love of '70s and '80s post-punk with the influence of contemporary bands like These New Puritans and Parquet Courts, they built a following playing live. In February of 2019, they released their debut 7" single "Bad Blood"/"Suburban Heights." The song drew praise from the British press as did the band's live sets opening for Wedding Present and the Brian Jonestown Massacre. A second single, "Teeth," followed that July on Heavenly Recordings.
