About Velvet Crush

The premier power-pop revivalists of the 1990s, Velvet Crush were lauded for their powerful hooks and the deft way they balanced sweet harmonies with heavy guitars, both upholding and updating the standards set by Big Star and their ilk. Led by drummer/producer/visionary Ric Menck, the trio released a handful of influential albums in the '90s, rested for a few years after their major-label classic TEENAGE SYMPHONIES TO GOD (the title paraphrases a Brian Wilson-attributed quote), and rebooted in a quieter, more indie way towards the turn of the millennium.
