In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is writing my first rap in grade 7 for a talent show at Elms Junior Middle School. Performing it in the gym was my first time on stage, and it pushed me to take music seriously in high school. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Drake, So Far Gone Kanye West, Late Registration Lil Wayne, Tha Carter III I chose these three because each shaped me. As a Toronto native, So Far Gone redefined the city’s sound. Late Registration formed my taste in middle school, and The Carter III set the bar with its bars and beats. Golden K)” This is the first song where I unveiled my new sound, blending patois with Spanish. I wrote it after learning Spanish while living in the Dominican Republic, featuring my cousin Golden K, building a real cultural bridge between Jamaica and DR. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The most memorable moments in my career so far are from the time I spent living in the Dominican republic learning Spanish to incorporate that into my music, blending it in with my Jamaican culture to create a new sound. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Have my music take me all over the world living off the creativity.
