About The Trodden Path

From a small town near Milwaukee, WI, the Trodden Path released one single, featuring two original compositions, in 1967. The A-side, "Don't Follow Me," was in a raw folk-rock style, perhaps with a tinge of Paul Revere & the Raiders; the flip, "Can't You See," was in a more routine garage rock mode. "Don't Follow Me" was issued on Highs in the Mid Sixties, Vol. 10, and both sides were included on the CD compilation Garagemental!: The Cuca Records Story, Vol. 2. That anthology also offered two previously unreleased tracks by the group, the Paul Revere/very early Guess Who-like "Keep Me Hangin' On" and the jangly garage folk-rocker "In This World I Need Love." ~ Richie Unterberger
