About Superorganism

Superorganism is a playfully theatrical indie art-pop collective whose eight members hail from New Zealand, Japan, Australia, South Korea, and the UK. ∙ The group is composed mostly of musicians who first met online, and seven of them were living together in a house in London when they formed Superorganism in 2017. ∙ Their self-titled 2018 debut album featured the single “Everybody Wants to Be Famous,” which rose into the Top 40 on Billboard’s US Alternative Airplay chart. ∙ The band’s 2018 Tiny Desk performance on NPR featured 20 inflatable whales, sound effects from toy cars and crunching apples, and their crustacean celebration, “The Prawn Song.” ∙ Superorganism received a nomination for Best Push Act (aka best breakthrough artist) at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards. ∙ In 2019, they appeared in the opening episode of the superhero drama Legion’s final season, performing their single “Something for Your M.I.N.D.”
