In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The Smash Tacklers began performing original songs, many of which were thought up on the spot, in their living room. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Julian Casablancas, Phrazes for the Young Nick Letwin, Any Cat Can Do It They Might Be Giants, John Henry All of these albums are very important to the Smash Tacklers because they have all had significant impacts on their lives. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Summer Fun” This song is a lot of fun. The Mellotron screwing around adds a lot to it, in addition to the funky drum samples. It's not without reason that this is one of their most popular songs. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The Smash Tacklers' first ever concert was when they performed "Oldzo Town Town" at Park Forest Middle School. They arranged the gig at the last minute and got lots of applause. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The Smash Tacklers believe that they need to experiment with recording with a full band. Then they will able to die happy.
