Something about that song sent me to another world, and created such a clear picture in my head that really shaped the way I enjoy and create music. Karnivool, Sound Awake Opeth, Ghost Reveries Type O Negative, October Rust These albums all boast incredible, evocative soundscapes and captivating songwriting. The combine diverse influences in a way that is more cohesive and dynamic than anything I had heard at the time. They all take me to another place. Tell us why you chose this song. “Ardent Soul” Ever since I wrote the main riff, I knew this song would be like a familiar-tasting meal made with unusual ingredients. From the creepy, atmospheric verses to the bouncy chorus, Ardent Soul sits in the grey area between alternative and prog. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Recording our latest group of songs with producer Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus) was not only a big leap and a highlight for Sentia, but also a bucket-list achievement. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Sentia has always straddled the gap between sub-genres of rock and it has never really felt like we have a home. That makes things interesting, but we believe in what we are creating and one day hope to see our strange niche grow.
