About Ryland James
Singer and songwriter Ryland James' gospel-tinged contemporary pop comes with a resonant, soul-inspired delivery. He made his major-label debut with the song "Good to You" in 2019.
Raised in Deseronto, Ontario in a family that included a grandmother who played gospel piano, James sang from a young age. Also a child athlete, he was inspired to focus on singing at ten after watching a contestant on TV's Britain’s Got Talent cover the Jackson 5. In his late teens, James was discovered by music manager Chris Smith, who signed him to Universal partner 21 Entertainment.
Ryland James' first single, 2017's "Good to You," got a Universal release in early 2019 and was followed by a Canadian tour in support of Alessia Cara. He put out a Christmas song and garnered millions of streams with "In My Head" before the end of the year. ~ Marcy Donelson
