I opened the doors to the auditorium, and the school band was playing James Brown / Aretha Franklin. At that moment I knew I would do music for life. Erykah Badu, Best of Erykah Badu Fleetwood Mac, Rumours Stevie Wonder, The Complete Stevie Wonder Rumours is one of the best albums of all time for its songwriting, followed by anything Stevie Wonder for its funkiness, and Erykah Badu's 'Baduism' for the soul. One day, I was driving my car, and a Prince song came on the radio. I started singing these ancient motifs over the groove, and Kupalo was born.
