About Mush

British guitar group Mush draw from the more eccentric side of post-punk revivalism, with their angular, absurdist, guitar-led indie rock first making waves with the release of 2017's "Comment Section Creeps" and the heavily playlisted, ten-minute workout "Alternative Facts." The group soon established their formula of energetic rhythms supporting insistent guitar work, with the drive of the melodies countered by soloing that pushed the music in playfully discordant ways as cartoonish vocals ride over it all. They followed their politically charged full-length debut, 2020's 3D Routine, with the similarly pointed Lines Redacted in 2021, while 2022's Down Tools calmed the tempos and smoothed out the guitar lines in favor of a relatively straightforward attack that still left room for six-string freak-outs.
