About Mitch

A signee of YG's 4Hunnid label, producer-turned-singer/songwriter Mitch debuted in the late 2010s with a versatile blend of sultry R&B and rap. Initially working as a producer for rapper YG, Mitch found early success producing singles like "One Time Comin" and "IDGAF." But it was the drafted hooks that Mitch added to YG's demos that soon caught the attention of the West Coast star, who promptly encouraged the young producer to focus on his vocal talents. Mitch made his vocal debut on the hook for 2016's "I Know," before launching into a solo career with singles like 2018's "Jersey." His first substantial project came with debut mixtape Space (2018): with two features from YG, the project offered a comprehensive look at the musician's sexually driven R&B sonics. Mitch returned the following year with 2019 EP Girl Power, a seven-track project with guest appearances from Too $hort, DaniLeigh, and Arin Ray. In 2020, the singer/songwriter returned to the fore with sophomore tape Better for You. Boasting features from Ty Dolla $ign and Yung Pinch, among others, the project swerved into more trap-laden directions. ~ David Crone
