About Mista Cain

Mista Cain is a Baton Rouge rapper with undeniable street cred and an impressive list of high-profile collaborations. But legal troubles have hindered his career. • Cain made a name for himself hustling in Baton Rouge. After surviving dangerous turf wars, he tried his hand at rapping in the early 2010s. • He formed and funded the Cain Music Mafia with a roster of local rappers including Deezy Cain, Chad Cain, and Scottie Cain. • The rapper gained recognition through independent songs such as “Boss Man Shyt” and “Homicide.” He also appeared on Kevin Gates’ 2013 mixtape Stranger Than Fiction. • In 2015, Mista Cain was acquitted of second-degree murder stemming from a 2012 shooting that left one man dead. He’d served more than two years behind bars before two other men, alleged Cain Music Mafia members, were found guilty. • Cain looks back on his incarceration and trial on the 2016 mixtape Cain.
