Mike Freedman

About Mike Freedman

This singer/songwriter has been performing for close to 20 years, originally beginning in his teenage years. After high school, Freedman was awarded a scholarship and entered the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. In 1990, the singer graduated with honors but continued to hone his craft. From there, Freedman returned to Toronto prior to going to the Claude Weston School for the Arts in Banff, Alberta. While there, he studied under Eli Kassner. In 1999, Freedman released his debut album, entitled Mother Earth, which was warmly received for its "acoustic-influenced tunes" and "well-crafted songs." In 2000, he was also honorably mentioned in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition. Continuing to perform in the Toronto area as well as across Canada, Freedman composed songs of a more personal nature. This resulted in returning to the studio and recording Postcards From the South on Earth Man Music. ~ Jason MacNeil
