About Mick Lynch

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My sister Aine singing me the Grizzly Adams theme tune, don't even know what age I was. Used to make me cry, the song, not her singing. Dad was a Music Professor so there was always music going on in the house. All my 9 siblings played something. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Nick Drake, Way to Blue: An Introduction to Nick Drake Pink Floyd, The Dark Side of the Moon Remastered The Beatles, Abbey Road (Remastered) Their last album, but Abbey Road was my introduction to The Beatles, put me on a journey to see where this genius grew from. Pink Floyd caught my classically trained ear, gorgeous music and textures. Nick Drake is valium. Pure meditation. Genius. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Lawrence of Arabia” A love song to television/film, an addiction as a kid, such an escape for me, a modern day campfire, but alas it can distance you from those around you and strip you of the true human interaction for real connectivity, and everything is a screen now. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Years touring with The Guggenheim Grotto (later Storyman) have given me so many amazing memories, but being from Ireland, the most memorable was probably hearing that our first album was actually being played on US radio. We were beyond excited. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I just love that I always wanna write songs and create, but if I HAVE to have a bucket list item then sure, stick an EGOT on there.... ;)
