About Meadowlark

Meadowlark is Rick Cyge (guitar and mandolin) and flautist Lynn Trombetta. The piano was Cyge's first instrument. He continued to learn the fundamentals of composition, harmony, and counterpoint; he perfected his technique and nourished his love of Celtic music in the folk scene around Boston. His key inspiration on the guitar (especially his use of open tuning) was the Algerian-born French guitarist Pierre Bensusan. Cyge met flautist Lynn Trombetta in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1991, and they began performing regularly together as Meadowlark in 1993. Their music is especially sensitive to the reflective and restorative properties of nature; these images are expressed in their first self-produced album, Dance of the Sandpiper. ~ Carol Wright
