About Marshall

Best known as one-fifth of Juno Award-winning Canadian pop group Walk Off the Earth, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Marshall, who operates under the mononym Marshall, employs a versatile blend of indie rock, hip-hop, R&B, neo-soul, and electronic alt-pop. The Toronto native rose to fame in the early 2010s with Walk Off the Earth, a folk-pop sketch group that became known for their innovative cover songs, specifically their 2012 rendering of Gotye's "Somebody I Used to Know," which garnered 70 million YouTube views and resulted in a record deal with Columbia. After relocating to Los Angeles, Marshall began focusing on production, co-penning songs with a wide array of artists, including producer/DJ Tiësto, producer Ill Factor, and Finnish noisemakers Rasmus. In October 2018, Marshall issued "I Could Be the One," the lead single from his forthcoming debut solo LP, Layers. ~ James Christopher Monger
