About Marc Fisher
b. 3 December 1959, Manchester, England. Keyboard player Fisher is the son of Tony Fisher, a professional trumpet player who, in addition to working with the Beatles on Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, has also collaborated with Frank Sinatra, Oscar Peterson and Sarah Vaughan. Mark studied the piano from the age of seven, joining his first band, Magnet Records’ recording artists Alibi, in 1978. By 1982 he had become a member of Second Image, a British soul/funk group signed to Polydor Records and then MCA Records who enjoyed several soul/club crossover hits including ‘Special Lady’, ‘Don’t You’ and ‘Starting Again’. When the Brit Funk revival dissipated, Fisher moved to a keyboard slot on Womack And Womack’s debut tour and on Wham!’s 1985/1986 world tour. His debut solo single arrived in 1985, and featured Dotty Green on vocals. ‘Love Situation’, released on Total Control/ EMI Records, managed a modest (number 52) UK chart placing. He returned to session work later in the year, with employment offered by Sister Sledge and Matt Bianco among others. He then became, in tandem with founder member Mark Reilly, a full-time member of the latter band, helping to write and co-produce Matt Bianco, Indigo and Samba In Your Casa. Other production credits, meanwhile, included sessions with Workshy and a female singer, Maribeth Pascua, destined for the Indo-Asian market. He has also written library music for television and radio use.
