About Laura Dickinson

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I did my first session when I was about seven years old. I sang in church and my parents are both musicians. Music was just always there from as early as I can remember. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alanis Morissette, Jagged Little Pill Frank Sinatra, The Best of the Capitol Years / Selections from the Capitol Years Box Set: Frank Sinatra Whitney Houston, Whitney Houston: Greatest Hits I've been listening to these albums forever. You can go to school on them, relax to them, just about anything you need. Much of my musical education came from listening to these artists and their catalogue. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “You Must Love Me” I've played Eva Peron in Evita twice, a show near and dear to my heart. I arranged this song for piano, voice and cello. I performed piano and sang on this version, written for the 1996 film. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? It's a toss up between performing all over the world with Ricky Kej using world music for environmental consciousness and performing as Giselle's voice for Amy Adams in Disenchanted. Both incredible experiences with a lot of memories attached. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd love to perform at the Hollywood Bowl again. It's a magical venue. Now onward to hosting and musical guesting on Saturday Night Live! I'd really like to reorchestrate the Jeopardy "Think!" theme and record it with a symphony orchestra.
