About K. Roosevelt

Originally a drummer, Los Angeles-based producer and vocalist K. Roosevelt came out from behind the scenes in 2013 with his R&B single "Do Me Now." While enrolled as a drummer in Hollywood's Musicians Institute, Roosevelt discovered production thanks to the school's policy that all percussionists must also take recording classes. The school's reasoning was that drummers understand structure and how music is built, and Roosevelt found it to be true, and soon, he switched his focus to studio work. Work with Overdoz, H.O.P.E., and others followed with his big break coming in 2011 thanks to his work on Skeme's single "Thank God." In 2012, he worked on the Game's album Jesus Piece, while 2013 saw him sign with the Interscope label and release the RoseGold EP along with the single "Do Me Now." ~ David Jeffries
