About Julie Fuchs
Soprano Julie Fuchs is one of the leading figures in the operatic repertory known as lyrique-léger. She has also sung German and Italian opera and has premiered new operatic works, as well as giving song recitals with pianist Alphonse Cemin. Soon after graduating, Fuchs had the lead role in Lully's Acis et Galatée at the Festival Aix-en-Provence. Fuchs won the first of several French government awards for Best Opera Newcomer in 2012, and the following year, she was given a company spot at the Zurich Opera. In 2015, Fuchs released the album Yes!, featuring French songs of the 1930s as well as light opera and musical theater selections. Fuchs appeared on a new recording of Bizet's Les Pêcheurs de Perles in 2018 with the Orchestre Nationale de Lille. In 2021, Fuchs was heard on conductor Marc Minkowski's recording of Mozart's Mitridate, re di Ponto, K. 87.
