About JSP

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I heard Shaggy "It Wasn't Me" when I was very young back in my Grandma's house one early early morning and immediately started dancing. I fell in love with Shaggy's music and started really paying attention to energy and spacing in music. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? D'Angelo, Brown Sugar Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Shaggy, Hot Shot I grew up on these albums, as I was surrounded by 90’s Hip Hop and R&B with a mix of Soca and Calypso as well. I drew inspiration from Lauryn Hill's storytelling and pen, Shaggy's energy between verses, and D'Angelo's background layer stacks. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Questions” Feeling like I was questioning everything in my relationships, there was an extended level of vulnerability while I was making it and I still hear it in the spacing I chose to keep on the record inspiring me to dive into this feeling deeper. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The most memorable moment is making regular rotation on Toronto Radio. Growing up hearing some of my favorite voice sitting in the backseat, to hearing my own voice is something special. More memories currently being made. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My team and I currently building worlds to live in each project. There's always an ever-expanding bucket list.
