About Jesse Slack

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is my mom sneaking my twin brother and I into a bar when I was about 12 or 13 to sing Karaoke. That was what I feel lit the fire inside me to pursue music. The thrill of breaking the rules and the rush of being on stage. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Blue Rodeo, Blue Rodeo Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 Eagles, The Very Best of Eagles Randy Montana, Randy Montana 1. The Eagles... because it's the Eagles! 2. Randy Montana! One of my biggest songwriting influences and Randy is just underated. 3. Blue Rodeo, huge influences of mind and they are Canadian music royalty. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Before It Was a Memory” "Before It Was A Memory" is so important to me because I grew up in the town of Peterborough, Ontario. Growing up it felt like a big small town but as things have gotten built up the town now feels like a city. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My most memorable moments would be getting the opportunity to play at Boots & Hearts and receiving my first "certified gold" single plaque as a songwriter for co-writing "Tell You Everything" recorded by Robyn Ottolini. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Playing the Grand Ol' Opry. Getting my first number 1 song as a songwriter. Winning a Grammy Award!!
