In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My dad would always jam music in the house, whether it was 70’s Soul, Jazz Fusion, Country Westerns, or current radio Pop. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? D'Angelo and The Vanguard, Black Messiah Herbie Hancock, Head Hunters Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly Head Hunters is my favorite jazz fusion album. I’ll never forget when I heard Watermelon Man for the first time and the drum break came in. When I moved away from home for good in 2015, Black Messiah and TPAB were the only two things I listened to. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Water Flows” This piece is very special to me. Very emotional and I love the composition, it was one of the first things I wrote for my album, earth sounds. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Getting to travel the world playing music. Whether as a bandleader, playing keys for Black Pumas, DJing or whatever in between, I’m always eager for the opportunity to perform live. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? As a musician that quickly got into producing, I can’t wait to produce an entire body of work for another artist. A big goal of mine is to produce and write for more people.
