JAMOSA

About JAMOSA

Marketed as Japan's answer to Mary J. Blige, R&B singer Jamosa divided her teens between the U.S. and Japan stacking up an impressive number of collaborations before releasing the mini-album Standing Strong in 2005. The following year, her rap-flavored "Lenai-Yo" single reached number three in the Oricon indie chart, which paved the way for Jamosa's major-label debut, Dream (Virgin Japan). For its follow-up, Jamosa looked stateside for inspiration, enlisting the mixing talents of G-Unit producer Red Spyda. Her debut full-length album, One, entered Japan's digital and she signed to the Avex label, for which she has recorded two albums, including 2009's Red. ~ David Hickey
