About Jamie Bonk
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The Johnny Cash Show is one of the reasons I’m a guitar player today. I started out playing piano at age four, but after seeing how cool Johnny Cash was on TV, I knew I had to make the switch to guitar. And, as they say, the rest is history. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Breezin' Kind of Blue Upstairs at Eric's So tough to choose from all the music I love, but these albums definitely helped define me as an artist. They’re all fantastic with great tunes, performances and arrangements and, even more importantly, each of them has a very clear point of view. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Street Below” I wrote this tune way back in 1991 when my wife and I were living in downtown Toronto. I had a studio in our condo that overlooked the street below — hence the title. I’m still playing this tune on gigs and it still brings me back all those years.
