Jahmal Padmore

Toronto native Jahmal Padmore is a singer-songwriter, producer, drummer, and guitarist whose deeply contemplative mix of alternative rock and R&B is self-critical more often than celebratory. He first appeared during the late 2000s as a member of the Carps, leading to numerous temporary collaborations and close connections. He made his solo debut in 2021 with a series of expressive vignettes, and over the next few years, he released the song-oriented albums Esparonto (2022) and The Wooz (2024), both of which were issued on the Telephone Explosion label.
