About JAHKOY

As Jahkoy emerged in the mid-2010s, the contemporary R&B singer and songwriter termed his way of switching modes as "bipolar sound," and even used Bipolar as the name for his label before he hooked up with a major. Although the Toronto native outgrew the tag, one constant throughout his discography has been a variety of approaches -- ballads rooted in classic soul, trap-styled slow jams, pop-flavored tracks for the club, and other heartfelt material that defies classification. He scored his first Billboard chart entry with "California Heaven" (2016), co-wrote the Top 40 pop hit "What About Me" (2018) for Lil Wayne, and has a lengthy catalog of singles, EPs, and full-length projects capped by the album Tangible (2021).
