Pacific Northwest metallers Hissing emerged in 2014 with an expansive and punishing style rooted in traditional black and death metal. Based out of Seattle, the trio initiated its exploration of the outer reaches of black metal with the release of 2018's Profound Lore-issued Permanent Destitution. The band further distilled its wide-ranging, blackened death sound on 2022's nightmarish Hypervirulence Architecture.
