About Goran Bregović
Goran Bregovic began his music career as the bassist in Bestije, which he followed with work in bands such as Kodeks, Mica, Goran & Zoran, and Bijelo Dugme, one of Yugoslavia's most successful bands until their breakup in 1988. He first turned to film work in 1978, composing the score to Mica Milosevic's Nije Nego. Bregovic's most fruitful collaboration was with director Emir Kusturica, highlighted by Arizona Dream (1993) and Cannes Film Festival winner Underground (1995). Scores for other directors have included Queen Margot (1994) and the documentry Mustafa (2008). He's also released many albums of stylized solo folk-pop music steeped in Balkan tradition. ~ Jason Ankeny
