Gerald Martin Moore

Gerald Martin Moore, well-known as a vocal coach and consultant, also maintains a vigorous career as a collaborative pianist. An important educator, he is director of the Yale Opera and coordinator of vocal studies at the Yale School of Music. An important step in the development of Moore's career as an opera pedagogue was his friendship with soprano Marie McLaughlin. Moore has been a vocal consultant to productions at major venues, including La Scala in Milan. He has given vocal coaching or consulted with some of the world's top opera singers, including Renée Fleming, who flew him often enough from London to New York that he decided to move to the latter city. Moore has often accompanied Fleming in concert and has worked with various other singers as a collaborative pianist. Among those is soprano Erin Morley, whom he accompanied on her 2024 recital Rose in Bloom.
