About Gente de Zona

The leading name in cubatón, Gente de Zona emerged at the top of the millennium with a signature, jovial melange of reggaetón beats and salsa instrumentals that has become an iconic fixture of Latin American nightlife. Formed in 2000 by singer and rapper Alexander Delgado Hernández, the band had its genesis in Havana's Alamar neighbourhood, the cradle of Cuban hip-hop. Gente de Zona performed regularly in local nightclubs and small festivals until the release of 2008’s Lo Mejor Que Suena Ahora, which found effusive audiences in Miami and Europe. The band's international breakthrough came in 2014 as a featured guest on Enrique Iglesias' smash single “Bailando,” practically going stratospheric two years later with Marc Anthony collaborations “La Gozadera” and “Traidora,” off career-defining album . Gente de Zona's sonically adventurous productions and wholesome pop songwriting solidified cross-generational appeal, securing future crossovers with Jennifer Lopez, Thalia, Becky G, and Carlos Vives.
