Dead and Gone

About Dead and Gone

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Dead and Gone started in early 1993 in Emeryville, CA. Our first recording was a 9 song demo we recorded live at Gilman Street, we were all involved in SF Bay Area DIY punk, underground music and art, booking live shows and collecting records. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Dicks, Kill from the Heart / Hate the Police Die Kreuzen, Die Kreuzen Void, Faith / Void Side 2 The VOID side of the Faith/Void split, just the most raw, relentless and frenetic hardcore; it demands a wild physical response!! Die Kreuzen first 12" raging hardcore, unlike anything - completely unique. Dicks 'Kill From the Heart' A masterpiece! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Red Handed (Polymorph Demo)” One of the first songs we put together that came out of 'jamming' at a rehearsal. It was just an ugly undulating, shapeless abyss and it broke us out of how we had been writing music together previously, very satisfying. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? We toured the crap out of the United States, played many hole in the wall, moldy basement, vets hall, dive bar, long tours to tiny audiences. But an early show in Tijuana, Mexico at an art school, the energy and fun at that show, just unforgettable. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Dead and Gone hasn't been an active band for many years! It would be great to play more, write music, who knows?! Everyone is busy, and we did it to death. That said, a tour to South America, Columbia, Peru, and especially Brazil, would be terrific!!
