Getting a transistor radio at age 6, popping in the battery, and the first thing I hear is Elton John's Crocodile Rock. I hadn't had much exposure to music of any kind before that. The music came to me at 4am during a three-day migraine. It's also a very personal song about a classical composer with whom I identify.
