Boyz Nite Out

About Boyz Nite Out

The California sextet Boyz Nite Out have helped keep alive doo wop singing since their inception in the early '90s, performing classic pop, rock, and R&B songs such as "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," "My Girl," and "Under The Boardwalk." The group's members, which included Mark Baldi, Bill Craig, Tom Griffin, Tony Ridenour, Eugene Rocha, and Jon Moore, first met in 1990, while they were attending American River College in Sacramento. At first, their performing together was little more than a casual hobby, but, after parting ways, they reunited in 1993, intending to seriously pursue a career with their music. Since that time, the award-winning combo has released several albums, including Rho Sham Bo, Director's Cut, and American Vinyl, earning an international following. The group has also provided music for commercials and shared the stage with acts ranging from Ray Charles and the Drifters to Jefferson Starship, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, and even comedian Dennis Miller. ~ Tom Demalon
