In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I grew up on the road with my dad (country artist Kenny Hess) so my earliest memories were setting up gear with him, selling CDs and driving from gig to gig. It showed me what being an independent musician looked like and I've been hooked ever since! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Mayer, Continuum Kacey Musgraves, Golden Hour Norah Jones, Come Away With Me (Super Deluxe Edition) This is IMPOSSIBLE! I love so many albums for so many reasons. I went with the three I listen to constantly. Each one of these records master what I love most - great songwriting, pure vocals and incredible musicianship/production. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Wonderful” This song is SO much fun to do live - the desert-y lounge vibe always makes me feel WAY cooler/hotter than I actually am. I wrote this with Byron Hill and Roger Brown, and although it is not a radio single it is definitely one of my favs to show off. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Almost as hard to choose as the favourite album question! Producing a Merle Haggard show (I named one of my pugs Merle), opening for Wynonna, Travis Tritt and Randy Houser who were all so good to me, my Dad and I hanging with Willie Nelson backstage! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? SO MUCH! I think artists are inherently dreamers. I have had so many cool moments on stage and off, but the list is ever-growing. Playing the Opry, getting a song cut by a big artist or writing with one of my heroes would be Top 3!
