About Beams

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I've always loved singing, but I was a shy kid. We used to listen to one of my mom's tapes during long van rides and I would sing along quietly in the back, with my hands cupped around my face so that only I could hear. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “A Flower Blossomed” This song celebrates hope in a way that I had never written about before... it clearly describes seeing things in a more positive light. It celebrates a breakthrough in healing and lays a breadcrumb trail to follow. Musically, it's lush in new ways. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my favourite things about being a musician is getting a peek into other worlds, like when we visited Wilco's "Loft" in Chicago, or Bitcrusher studio in Cincinnati, or when we get to crash on friends' floors that we meet on the road. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We'd love to play Red Rocks or Massey Hall, we'd love to tour Europe, get on some festival circuits, it's basically all still on the bucket list. At the very least, I'd like to be able to release this next record we've been writing.
