About Bahamas

Finnish-Canadian indie rocker Afie Jurvanen said he selected Bahamas as the name for his solo project because “It sounded like a place I’d rather be.”

∙ Before releasing his 2009 debut album, Pink Strat, he played guitar in the live bands of fellow Canadians Feist, Jason Collett, and Howie Beck.
∙ His 2014 single “All the Time” became a breakout hit after it was used in a national ad campaign starring James Franco.
Bahamas Is Afie, his third LP, made Q’s list of the Top 20 albums of 2014.
∙ He’s won four Juno Awards, including Adult Alternative Album honors for Bahamas is Afie and 2018’s Earthtones.
Earthtones features the contributions of legendary drummer James Gadson (Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra) and bassist Pino Palladino (The Who, Nine Inch Nails, D’Angelo).
