Amy Klein

A songwriter, guitarist, violinist, and vocalist, Amy Klein has made a name for herself with her passionate, personal, and anthemic rock music, both as a solo artist and for her work with Titus Andronicus, Hilly Eye, and a handful of other projects. Klein also wrote and performed solo material under the name Solanin, and formed an Americana-influenced group, Amy Klein & the Blue Star Band. In 2012, Klein debuted an urban folk ensemble, Leda. In addition to her work as a musician, she also worked as a freelance writer, publishing her work with The New York Observer, The Believer, The Village Voice, and The DCist. She is also the founder of Permanent Wave, a feminist activist organization. In June 2016, Klein released her first solo album, Fire. ~ Mark Deming
