About A Witness
A quartet from Manchester, England, made up of singer Keith Curtis, guitarist Rick Aitken, bassist Vince Hunt, and drummer Alan Brown, A Witness play in a raucous alternative style. They debuted with the EP Loudhailer Songs in 1985, followed by the debut album I Am John Pancreas in 1986. After the 1988 release of the EP Raw Patch, the Ron Johnson record label, which had issued their work, folded, and they moved to Fundamental Records for their second album, Sacred Cow Heart (1988), released in the U.S. on Communion. In 1989, Forbidden Fruit released a mini-album containing two radio appearances on John Peel's program, Double Peel Sessions. ~ William Ruhlmann
