Stravinsky: Le sacre du printemps - Chant funèbre

Stravinsky: Le sacre du printemps - Chant funèbre

Riccardo Chailly has always been a superb Stravinsky conductor—rhythmically precise, with an ear for orchestral colour and the ability to generate real excitement from within the ensemble. On his first recording with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, Le Sacre du Printemps is very exciting and remarkably faithful to the score. The cherry on the cake, though, is the first recording of the newly discovered Chant funèbre, an atmospheric work from 1909 written in memory of Rimsky-Korsakov. Stunning recorded sound.
