EDITORS’ NOTES

Fast, filthy, and furious: Those three words might sum up the virulently aggressive debut from extreme-punk supergroup Septic Tank. Featuring half of U.K. doom dealers Cathedral alongside Scott Carlson of U.S. grind pioneers Repulsion and überproducer Jaime Gomez Arellano (on drums), the band mainlines thrash, death metal, and the early hardcore of Discharge and Siege into two-minute ragers like “Septic Tank,” “Victimised,” and “Social Media Whore.” Later, a swaggering Motörhead-style rock sensibility shines through on “Divide and Conk Out” and “Digging Your Own Grave.”
