Quebecois singer/songwriter Kevin Parent dazzles on his enchanting second English-language album. There's a Dylan-esque quality to the philosophical folk jam "A Thousand Galaxies," as Parent ponders where to go in the wake of love. A desert wind blows through the bluesy cowboy tale "Hands to Sun,” on which his solemn growl sings of a "Sunday morning back from the dead.” But Parent is a man of many moods and grooves. He takes a lighter approach on both the humorous, raunchy rocker "Honey I'm Home” and the lilting, romantic title track.
